ARTIST STATEMENT
My artistic process fuses photography and painting. I have a formation in Fashion Design & Commercial Photography. For me it was a logical transition to replace the lens for paintbrushes.
I like to rework my photographs with the eye of a painter.
My art is very personal. I want to show a certain intimacy that reveal the in-between two actions or decisions. It's like a pause. I create work that lives in a space not just decorate.
But to bring something like a mood , a presence.
I always incorporate a quote in every painting. I wish to inspire the observer in a positive and strong way.
To achieve the result I expect, I prefer to work with acrylic paint and oil pastels. Textures are crucial in my process. They create depth. I incorporate on the canvas abundance of paste , fabric, metal and lace.
There is always a thread of connectivity between every painting. It's imperative for me . I want to attract the attention of the viewer into my universe full of softness and mystery at the same time.
